Israel and Palestine: the history each map leaves out
The lines most people recognise mark proposals, armistices, occupation, treaties or temporary military control. Reading them correctly shows how two national movements, unequal power and specific decisions produced the conflict. It also gives us a firmer rule for judging it: no history makes civilians guilty.
